PCIe correctable error events for X4014A disks with a device status of 0xffff
Applies to
- AFF A800, AFF A250
- Internal X4014A NVMe SSD
Issue
- On AFF A800 or AFF A250 systems where internal X4014A NVMe SSD disks with a
X4014S173A15TNTE
drive string are idle, a PCIe correctable error event message might periodically be generated on the console and event log. - The message can appear in maintenance mode or while ONTAP is running.
- It is least likely to occur if the drive is part of an aggregate that has active I/O.
- It is more likely to occur if the drive is a spare drive.
The following are examples of these error messages:
In ONTAP:
Correctable IIO errors: IIO3: RPT(93,2,0): PCI Device 144d:a825 in slot 30 on Controller, Dv[a825](121,0,0) in slot 30: DevStaJul 11 17:46:02 [localhost:pcie.errors:notice]: PCI Express correctable error - IIO3: RPT(93,2,0): PCI Device 144d:a825 in slot 30 on Controller, Dv[a825](121,0,0) in slot 30: DevStatus(0xffff);
On the console during bootup:
