Drives missing from AFF-A800 controller following an insert or removal of the partner PCM

Issue

  • Following a insertion or removal of a motherboard from the chassis, the partner node may experience a loss of visibility to one or more drives on the internal chassis.
    • The node may experience a multi-disk panic due to the loss of multiple drives in the same RAID group.
  • This issue does not impact disks on external shelves.
  • This issue may create WAFL inconsistencies messages like:

[node_name: wafl_exempt17: wafl.raid.incons.userdata:error]: WAFL inconsistent: inconsistent user data block at VBN 0123456789 (...) in volume volume_name@vserver:...

  • The following messages may be observed in EMS:

[Node_name: config_thread: raid.config.filesystem.disk.missing:info]: File system Disk 0n.39 Shelf 0 Bay 39 [NETAPP   X4014S173315TNTE NA53] S/N [S60SNEXXXXXXX] UID [00000001:...:00000000] is missing.
