"CHASSIS POWER SUPPLY NEED TO BE REPLACED" error coming after PSU replacement

Issue

  • Even after replacing the faulty PSU, both the nodes in HA will report the errors on replaced PSU
  • You will see the below Autosupport alert on a daily basis

 HA Group Notification (CHASSIS POWER SUPPLY NEED TO BE REPLACED: PS 2) ERROR 

  • The below EMS alerts will be seen on an hourly basis on both the nodes in HA pair

Sat Aug 21 00:27:05 +0530 [Node-01: env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.degraded:notice]: Chassis power supply 2 is degraded: PSU2 Curr Out is Critical Low (0 mA)
Sat Aug 21 00:27:05 +0530 [Node-01: env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.degraded:notice]: Chassis power supply 2 is degraded: PSU2 Volt Out is Critical High (12598 mV)
Sat Aug 21 00:27:05 +0530 [Node-01: env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.degraded:notice]: Chassis power supply 2 is degraded: PSU2 Power In is Critical Low (0 W)
     
  • The "platform sensors" will be showing MULTIFAULT on the respective PSU
