Issue

  • After FC troubleshooting motherboard embedded FC port does not stay online
  • Issue remains after following troubleshooting steps in KB "FC Target adapter port link disconnected"
  • The following log output when taking the switch port down and back up with new or known working devices. 

PORT-5-IF_DOWN_BIT_ERR_RT_THRES_EXCEEDED: %$VSAN 1%$ Interface fc1/2 is down (Error disabled - bit error rate too high)
MODULE-4-MOD_WARNING: Module 1 (Serial number: ) reported warning fc1/2 due to MAC Bit error exceeded threshold in device
MODULE-4-MOD_WARNING: Module 1 (Serial number: ) reported warning fc1/2 due to MAC Bit error exceeded threshold in device
PORT-5-IF_DOWN_BIT_ERR_RT_THRES_EXCEEDED: %$VSAN 1%$ Interface fc1/2 is down (Error disabled - bit error rate too high)
PORT-5-IF_DOWN_ADMIN_DOWN: %$VSAN 1%$ Interface fc1/2 is down (Administratively down)
