Issue

The log file is filled with messages similar to the following:

(cn1610) #show logging buffered

<13> Oct 21 01:51:16 172.16.0.100-1 DHCPCLIEN[300012345]: dhcp_prot.c(745) 82300 %% Failed to acquire an IP address on Network Port; DHCP Server did not respond.
<13> Oct 21 01:56:19 172.16.0.100-1 DHCPCLIEN[300012345]: dhcp_prot.c(745) 82301 %% Failed to acquire an IP address on Network Port; DHCP Server did not respond.
<13> Oct 21 02:01:22 172.16.0.100-1 DHCPCLIEN[300012345]: dhcp_prot.c(745) 82302 %% Failed to acquire an IP address on Network Port; DHCP Server did not respond.

Some of the fields above will vary although the error text will be the same.

Since the switch attempts to acquire an IP address once every 5 minutes - or 288 times a day - this can quickly fill up a log file with useless information.
