FAN 4 or 5 going faulty on Brocade 6520

Issue

  • Non FRU FAN 4 or 5 belonging to PSU 1 or 2 respectively,  going to faulty state post removal or insertion of a redundant PSU.
  • In the errdump, following events are reported:

2019/05/16-19:17:19, [EM-1049], 19, CHASSIS, INFO, Brocade6520, FRU Fan 5 insertion detected.
2019/05/16-19:17:21, [EM-1049], 20, CHASSIS, INFO, Brocade6520, FRU PS 2 insertion detected.
2019/05/16-19:17:21, [HIL-1610], 21, CHASSIS, WARNING, Brocade6520, Fan/PS unit 2 not supplying power, fan speeds may not be available. Please ensure that the unit has power and the switch is on.
2019/05/16-19:17:21, [EM-1003], 22, FFDC | CHASSIS, CRITICAL, Brocade6520, Fan 5 has unknown hardware identifier: FRU faulted.
