Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • QLogic CNA 8324 ports

Issue

  • SnapMirror transfer may fail with error as per snapmirror show -fields state, status, health, last-transfer-error

Error: command failed: Failed to get information for source volume "volume_node_name:volume_name" for confirmation. (CSM: A get-session operation failed because no (local) transport address was registered for the node.)

  • EMS logs ports transitioning to an inactive state. Example:

[node-name: intr: net.ifgrp.lacp.link.inactive:error]: ifgrp a0a, port e0g has transitioned to an inactive state. The interface group is in a degraded state.
[node_name: intr: net.ifgrp.lacp.link.inactive:error]: ifgrp a0a, port e0e has transitioned to an inactive state. The interface group is in a degraded state.

  • If intercluster LIFs on affected ports, the cluster peer ping is unreachable.
  • LIF status operational is "down".Example:

::> network interface show -role intercluster
Logical    Status     Network            Current       Current Is
Vserver     Interface  Admin/Oper Address/Mask       Node          Port    Home
----------- ---------- ---------- ------------------ ------------- ------- ----
VServer
           [...]
           lif-intc    up/down    x.x.x.x/x          node-name      a0a-11 true

  • No LACPDUs received but sent, in ifconfig -vvv output. Example:

a0a: flags=8888<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 9000
    ...
    laggport: e0g flags=22222<DEFAULT> state=45<ACTIVITY,AGGREGATION,DEFAULTED>
          ...
          input/output LACPDUs: 0 / 123456
