Is ASUP triggered when one NIC for the cluster port is pulled out?

Answer

  • Not triggered.
  • Even if communication between e0a (or e0b) is interrupted, communication is possible with e0b (or e0a), so ASUP is not triggered.

Additional Information

  • The interconnect communication is done via ic0a on the backplane, not via e0a/e0b.
  • If communication is interrupted for both e0a/e0b, OUT OF CLUSTER QUORUM (OOQ) is caused and ASUP is triggered.
