Description

This article describes the steps required for a cold-swap upgrade.

When replacing the IOM module in a shelf with a different model it requires the following components to be powered off during the change:

  • ALL nodes that connect to the impacted shelves
  • ALL ATTO bridges (if applicable) that connect to the impacted shelves
  • The shelves of which the IOM model will be changed

Possible upgrades:

  • IOM3 -> IOM6
  • IOM3 -> IOM12*
  • IOM6 -> IOM12*

*Be aware of port differences between IOM3/IOM6 and IOM12

Note: In case downtime is not acceptable, the recommendation is to reach out to your Account team or Sales Representative.
