Description

Data ONTAP 8.2.4 or 8.3.1 and later include firmware that allows GbE connectivity to FAS2552 and FAS2554 systems with Converged Network Adapter (CNA) ports, also known as Unified Target Adapter (UTA2) ports.

After upgrading existing systems to Data ONTAP 8.2.4 or 8.3.1, upgrade the flash image for the CNA/UTA2 ports and use one of the following GbE modules with the port to support GbE connectivity:

  • X6567-R6 -- SFP Optical 1GB Shortwave Multimode
  • X6568-R6 -- SFP Copper 1GB RJ-45

Note: This operation does not apply to FAS2520 systems.

The following procedure includes information for single nodes or systems in an HA pair (active/active configuration).
