Flapping port observed on a switchless cluster
Applies to
Switchless cluster systems (nodes directly connected through cluster ports)
Issue
- A constantly flapping link brings the port down on the cluster. Example:
[Node-01: kernel: netif.linkDown:info]: Ethernet e0c: Link down, check cable.
[Node-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.portdown:notice]: A link down event was received on node Node-01, port e0c.
[Node-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.clus.linkdown:EMERGENCY]: The cluster port e0c on node Node-01 has gone down unexpectedly.
[Node-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.portup:notice]: A link up event was received on node Node-01, port e0c.
[Node-01: vifmgr: vifmgr.port.monitor.failed:error]: The "link_flapping" health check for port e0c (node Node-01) has failed. The port is operating in a degraded state.
[Node-01: vifmgr: callhome.clus.net.degraded:alert]: Call home for CLUSTER NETWORK DEGRADED: Frequent Link Flapping - Cluster port e0c on node Node-01 has experienced multiple link down notifications.
