Answer

  • A Fast IO Timeout is logged when a drive’s response time to a fast flagged READ, sent to the array from a host exceeds the Controller Firmware’s 'fastIOTimeout' value threshold.
  • When a Fast IO Timeout occurs, the drive is placed on probation for up to 60 seconds or until the next READ or WRITE completes
