- E-Series Controller Firmware 6.xx
- E-Series Controller Firmware 7.xx
On most storage controllers, there are two Ethernet ports per controller. One is typically used for management and the other is used for service, meaning that it can be used for localized troubleshooting through a terminal without disrupting the management connection. When installing a new storage system, it is general practice to configure one Ethernet port for the user's management network and leave the default IP address assigned to the second Ethernet port.
The default IPs for either Ethernet port are as follows:
Port 1 -192.168.128.101 & Port 2 -192.168.129.101 / 255.255.255.0
Port 1 -192.168.128.102 & Port 2 -192.168.129.102 / 255.255.255.
Warning: Do NOT confuse these Ethernet ports with iSCSI ports. These ports should be used for management and terminal connections only.
Contact NetApp Support for further assistance with configuring the management ports on the E-Series storage arrays.
