This article describes how to upgrade the E-Series controller firmware (CFW) on a StorageGRID Appliance (SGA) SG5600 or SG5700 or SG6000.
Each StorageGRID Appliance (SGA) SG5600 or SG5700 contains one storage controller and one compute controller.
- The SG5612 and SG5660 appliances contain:
- 1x E2700 storage controller, running SANtricity CFW
- 1x E5600SG computer controller
- The SG5712 and SG5760 appliances contain:
- 1x E2800 storage controller, running SANtricity CFW
1x E5700SG compute controller
Each StorageGRID Appliance (SGA) SG6000 contains two storage controllers and one compute controller.
The SG6060 appliance contains:
2x E2800 storage controller, running SANtricity CFW
1x SG6000-CN computer node
The StorageGRID appliance uses the standard SANtricity CFW and a custom NVSRAM (non-volatile static random-access memory) configuration file which is different from the standard configuration file included in the SANtricity CFW download package. You must use the StorageGRID custom NVSRAM configuration file when upgrading controller firmware on the StorageGRID appliance.
