How to remove the access volume using SMcli scripting
Applies to
Data ONTAP 8
Description
The access volume is a special volume used to convey configuration operation requests to a controller. Although the access volume is presented by the storage system as a unit capable of processing standard block I/O requests, it is designed specifically to handle only configuration command transactions using the controller's UTM protocol.
Without the access volume mapped to a storage partition, the in-band proxy manager will not be able to communicate between the storage system and the data/management host through in-band management.
Note: If in-band management is not being used, delete the access volume to free the LUN number for use with a standard volume.
