Description

This article describes the procedure to find the correct part number to order a replacement battery in an E-Series system.

Note: This article assumes that a valid chassis serial number has been provided and ASUP data is available. If a Collect All Support Data (CASD) zip is being used instead of ASUP (using SmartSolve), skip to Step 5. The names of the files in the CASD are the same as in an ASUP. Use a text editor to view them instead of SmartSolve.

Note: For more information on the replacement process, see the battery replacement guide depending on the controller model.
Product Documentation

Note: If working on a case with a Webscale appliance, model SG56XX-BASE-R6 or SW-SG-WEBSCALE-SW, ensure before proceeding with battery replacement to review the documentation for Webscale solutions, so that all necessary steps are taken before the battery replacement. Read the section over replacing the particular controller for instructions. However, instead of replacing the controller, pull the controller out and replace the battery in line with the hardware replacement guides.
