Since the ONTAP Select deploy tool is not supported to change its management IP, if customer's network environment changes, this tool needs a new IP for running and managing existing ONTAP Select.
Bug # 1083161 RFE: Possibility to change the IP address of the deploy tool after it has been installed.
An alternate method is needed to migrate the tool to a new VM.
ONTAP Select deploy tool provides backup/restore from CLI. It is possible to back up all the existing configurations and restore them to a new deploy tool VM.
- Backup and restore deploy tool version must be in the same version.
- The new deploy tool VM must be a blank new VM deployment. If it is configured, even after you delete all the configurations to restore it, the following error will be displayed:
[Request xxx (failure)]: Job failed with error. Configuration restore failed. Reason: This Deploy VM has been used for one or more operations. Deploy VM must be in a newly-initialized state.
