vol move command fails as the move is stuck in a soft deferred state

Issue

  • The volume move command does not make progress and fails
  • job show command for the volume move shows:

sim3::*> job show -id 19 -fields progress 

id vserver progress

-- ------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19 sim3    "Cutover Deferred::Reason: The estimated time to complete cutover is greater than the cutover window that
can be tolerated by the user. Transferring data: 10.32MB sent."  

  • EMS logs shows:

7/11/2012 15:16:20  sim3-01          ERROR         mgmt.vopl.move.cut.entryFail: The volume move operation on volume
'mirrSrc' on vserver 'vs0' to destination aggregate 'aggr2' failed to enter the cutover phase because of 'The estimated
time to complete cutover is greater than the cutover window that can be tolerated by the user'. After a short delay,
the volume move operation reattempts to enter the cutover phase
