Answer

Disabling CIFS oplocks does not affect existing oplocks, it only disables any future oplocks.

  • To disable oplocks at the filer level:

:> options cifs.oplocks.enable off

  • To disable oplocks at the qtree level:

:> qtree oplocks <qtree_path> disable
