Effective December 3 - NetApp adopts Microsoft’s Business-to-Customer (B2C) identity management to simplify and provide secure access to NetApp resources. For accounts that did not pre-register (prior to Dec 3) access to your NetApp data may take up to 1 hour as your legacy NSS ID is synchronized to the new B2C identity. Answer

Adjust the -is-search-short-names-enabled option from the vserver cifs options modify tree to match your desired behavior.

vserver cifs options modify -vserver <vserver_name> -is-search-short-names-enabled true

For more information see vserver cifs options show

Additional Information

Example.  When doing a dir *.txt from the command line, I get different results on different systems even though they are supposed to be the same.

  • System 1:  dir *.txt returns

file1.txt
file2.txt001

  • System 2: dir *.txt returns

file1.txt
