Effective December 3 - NetApp adopts Microsoft’s Business-to-Customer (B2C) identity management to simplify and provide secure access to NetApp resources. For accounts that did not pre-register (prior to Dec 3) access to your NetApp data may take up to 1 hour as your legacy NSS ID is synchronized to the new B2C identity. • CIFS
  • UNIX security style volume/qtree with NFSv4 ACLs

Answer

  • When a Windows client opens the security tab in file properties, ONTAP will check for the presence of any NFSv4 ACLs on the file.
  • If NFSv4 ACLs are present, the ONTAP CIFS server will return an error " STATUS_NOT_SUPPORTED" to the client whenever the client is trying to list the permissions from the security tab.
  • The Windows file explorer translates this into the error: "The requested security information is either unavailable or can't be displayed"
