Answer

That is because filer does not access data on partner disks unless it does the takeover. In order to know the used size of the disk, RAID must read table of contents from that disk. Therefore, RAID usually reports only raw size of partner disks that results in showing used size for some, but not all partner disks.

Example of sysconfig -r output for this case (partial listing):

RAID Disk Device HA SHELF BAY CHAN Used (MB/blks) Phys (MB/blks)
----------- --------- ---- ------- ------ ------- ------------- ------------------
partner 4b.53 4b 3 5 FC:B 0/0 69536/142410400
partner 4b.52 4b 3 4 FC:B 0/0 69536/142410400
partner 4b.45 4b 2 13 FC:B 0/0 69536/142410400
partner 4b.29 4b 1 13 FC:B 68000/139264000 69536/142410400
partner 4b.28 4b 1 12 FC:B 68000/139264000 68552/140395088
