Answer

  • The FPolicy vendor has the ability to re-connect the FPolicy server by using ZAPI (if certain options are configured within the FPolicy partner software)
  • This prevents ONTAP from disabling the FPolicy
  • When the external-servers are in connecting state, FPolicy will hold the CIFS/NFS operations until the servers are marked as connected/disconnected.
