What kind of management activies are audited by ONTAP and available in AutoSupport logs?

Answer

As per the default settings, the management activities audited operations that are found in AutoSupport logs must be executed in the following ways:

  • Using ONTAP CLI
  • Using ONTAP System Manager
  • Using API calls

If a system is managed in some other way, then the audit may or may not happen. In such cases, to ensure successful auditing, vserver auditing needs to be enabled.
