Answer

This EMS message means Client IP was rejected due to cifs share having SMB encryption enabled:

Thu May 06 02:31:28 +0100 [NETAPP-02: kernel: Nblade.cifsEncShrAccessDenied:error]: Client (IP: 10.193.179.190, Vserver: 22) could not connect to CIFS share "test" because SMB encryption is required.

What information are we getting from this?

  • Client >>> client IP where call originated from
  • Vserver >>>> verserver ID#
  • CIFS share >>>> cifs share that client attempted to access
