Weekly Performance Data AutoSupport is missing the cm-stats-hourly.gz attachment because it is too large

Issue
Check Active IQ if this impacts your systems
In Data ONTAP 8.0.x, the hourly statistics file /etc/log/cm_stats_hourly
is collected weekly (on Sundays) and sent as a cm-stats-hourly.gz
attachment in a PERFORMANCE DATA AutoSupport message. In larger storage systems, this file can grow beyond the 10 MB limit allowed to be transmitted by AutoSupport. If the cm_stats_hourly
file exceeds this size, the file attachment is dropped from the weekly PERFORMANCE DATA AutoSupport payload. When this occurs, an error message similar to the one below is seen in the /etc/log/mlog/notifyd.previous.*
log files:
Sun Dec 04 2011 00:00:11 -04:00 [kern_notifyd:info:1732] asup[1732:153] attach_file_2_email: File (/mroot/etc/log/.cm_stats_hourly_done.gz) being dropped since it's required base64 size (17424831) is larger that the remaining size(10410760)
Without the information in this attachment, users cannot view performance related information about their systems in the Active IQ portal. It also impacts NetApp Support's ability to maintain a consistent performance history of a user's system while performing a customer case triage.
