Issue

  • ESXi was upgraded from 6.7 to 7.0U3 involving HBA (HPE Synergy CNA 6820c) firmware upgrade to 8.55.31 and driver upgrade to 2.2.70
  • VMs crash
  • VM performance deteriorated due to high storage latency
  • Datastore may get disconnected
  • vmkernel.log indicates READ(10), RETRY:
