Thin LUN went offline due to lack of space in the volume

Issue

Thin provisioned LUN with space allocation enabled goes offline due to running out of space in the containing volume. The following error can be seen in EMS.

Example EMS Error:
 
wafl_exempt04: wafl.vol.full:notice]: Insufficient space on volume vol1@vserver:fe7e3150-f61c-11e3-b34c-123478563012 to perform operation. 80.0KB was requested but only 1.00KB was available.
