Reason for archival:Another article for the same issue already existed, and had accumulated many more "resolved" citations.  Improvements and context from the later article have been moved to the original article, and the 11 cases with resolved citations have been pointed to the original article so citation stats are not lost.

Issue

Customer attempts to move a large volume using the regular ONTAP volume move start command, but the job will not go past the initialization fails and eventually times out with messages as seen in the MGWD log similar to:

Replication encountered an unknown error. The primary volume has a file/LUN which exceeds the maximum file/LUN size destination can support.
