Issue

  • ONTAP records the Organizational Unit (OU) when the SVM CIFS object is created in Active directory:

cluster1::> vserver cifs server show -instance

                                          Vserver: svm1
                         CIFS Server NetBIOS Name: ONTAPCIFS
                    NetBIOS Domain/Workgroup Name: domain
                      Fully Qualified Domain Name: domain.local
                              Organizational Unit: CN=Computers
Default Site Used by LIFs Without Site Membership:
                                   Workgroup Name: -
                             Authentication Style: domain
                CIFS Server Administrative Status: up
                          CIFS Server Description:
                          List of NetBIOS Aliases: -

  • The computer object is moved within Active Directory to a new OU
  • The ONTAP command line and System Manager do not reflect the new location of the computer object
