Offbox-AV scanners reports error "vscanBadUserPrivAccess" while accessing target files

Applies to

ONTAP 9 and later 

ONTAP 8.3

Issue

  • When the applied on-access policy contains 'scan-mandatory' filter, file accesses are denied (without any noticeable delay) even though the scanner is connected.
  • To confirm the same, check the following EMS message that is generated every 30 minutes: "Nblade.vscanBadUserPrivAccess"

Cluster:: > event log show -messagename Nblade.vscanBadUserPrivAccess
