Applies to

  • All FAS or AFF Platforms
  • All E-Series Platforms
  • All Solidfire Platforms
  • Cisco UCS platforms
  • VMware ESXi
  • FCP, iSCSI, or NFS connectivity

Issue

  • High latency is seen from the user end or from virtual machines, but network and storage response times do not show an issue.
  • Example: ONTAP 9 qos statistics volume latency show shows 1-10 ms of latency, but vSphere performance graphs may show 5-10 seconds of latency.
    • VMware may also show path flapping issues and users will see 30 seconds of latency or more then the i/o will recover.
