Applies to

  • ONTAP 9.8+
  • ONTAP S3
  • MinIO client

Issue

  • MinIO client commands mc ls or mc cp fail with the header not implemented error:

[root@LinuxHost  /]# mc ls s3/bucket-test
mc: <ERROR> Unable to list folder. A header you provided implies functionality that is not implemented.
[root@LinuxHost /]# mc cp file-test s3/bucket-test
mc: <ERROR> Failed to copy `/file-test`. A header you provided implies functionality that is not implemented.

  • The AWS CLI  equivalent ls and cp commands worked successfully.
  • The same functionality not implemented error was also seen with Restic backup.
