Mapped CIFS shares are not re-connecting after Windows client reboot
Applies to
- ONTAP 9
- CIFS
Issue
The environment and issue is as described below
- CIFS server is joined to NASLAB domain.
- CIFS User mapping the CIFS share is also from same NASLAB domain.
- The Windows client (PC) from where user is mapping the CIFS Share is joined to different domain called LAB and the user logs into this PC using LAB domain credentials.
- Domains LAB and NASLAB doesn't have any Trust relationship
- CIFS user is mapping the CIFS share with option "Reconnect at sign-in" enabled and provides NASLAB user credentials during mapping.
- But after reboot of the Windows client , the CIFS share doesn't automatically Map again since the share mapping fails.
