LIF migration does not follow failover policy through ANDU upgrade in ONTAP 9

Applies to

• ONTAP 9.3 and earlier
• High-availability (HA)
• Automated nondisruptive upgrade (ANDU)
• Logical Interface (LIF)
• Management gateway daemon (MGWD)
• Virtual interface manager (VIFMGR)

Issue

• ANDU Batch proactively migrates management and data LIFs via scripted automation preferring a port in the failover group on the HA partner   
• MGWD will log the behavior
