Answer

  • While it is impossible to guarantee 100% non disruptive action, volume move is designed to minimize disruption on all client systems.
  • The default cutover window is 30 seconds
  • If cutover cannot be completed within the cutover window, the operation is soft-deferred until a non disruptive cutover can occur
  • In certain rare instances on heavily-used volumes, cutover cannot be completed and remains in a deferred state indefinitely.  For these volumes, a reduction in data access may be required for cutover to occur.  Please contact NetApp Technical Support in these cases.
