Description

This article describes the step-by-step procedure for transitioning a source 7-Mode NFSv3 export to a clustered Data ONTAP system.

NetApp XCP Migration Tool is a high-performance NFSv3 host-based migration tool for fast and reliable third-party storage to NetApp® migrations and NetApp to NetApp transitions. The tool also supports discovery, logging and reporting, and a wide variety of sources and targets.

XCP runs on a Linux client as a command-line tool. It is packaged as a single binary file that is easy to deploy and use. Users need to download and copy the binary on a supported Linux distribution.

XCP 1.0 has the following nine commands:

  • show
  • help
  • activate
  • scan
  • copy
  • verify
  • sync
  • sync dry-run
  • resume
