This article describes the procedure to be followed to enable jumbo frames in ONTAP 9

After changing the MTU size to 9000, jumbo frames are enabled. No reboot of the controller is required.

Note: Jumbo frames should have an MTU of 9000 for ESXi hosts and storage systems and 9216 for most switches.
