Description

The procedure in the article outline the steps needed to encrypt a Snapmirror destination volume.

NOTE: The encryption configuration is unique to the cluster in which it was configured. In some instances, encryption is not enabled on the Snapmirror destination cluster when a Snapmirror relationship is initialized. ONTAP displays a warning when this configuration is detected:

Warning: You are about to establish a SnapMirror relationship between an encrypted source volume "SVMA:vol1" and a non-encrypted destination volume "SVMB:vol1_dp";
         you might want to use an encrypted destination volume for consistent security on both the source and destination.
