Description

  • NetApp Volume Encryption (NVE) provides encryption of data at rest with a key applied at the volume level.
  • NetApp Aggregate Encryption (NAE) was introduced in ONTAP 9.6 and uses shared keys at the aggregate level to allow encryption of the volumes within that aggregate.  When NAE is used, inline or background aggregate level deduplication is possible to be enabled.
