High FlexGroup or FlexVol CIFS latency due to CIFS ChangeNotify fixed with share properties

Issue

  • Elevated CIFS latency, typically for WRITE operations, but also Create, Setattr, Open, Close
  • Output of qos statistics volume latency show shows majority of latency in data column
  • Users hosted in VDI environment report slow access immediately post migrating from FlexVol to FlexGroup. 
  • Latency may be seen on a single constituent steady or shift between constituent volumes in rapid succession if multiple directories are read or written to
