High CIFS latency when volume/qtree or CIFS share have oplocks disabled

Issue

  • CIFS clients may experience decreased throughput or increased latency
  • More IOPS may be observed on CIFS shares
  • No Latency from the same share on a different storage array when compared to that from NetApp storage. 
  • An alert may be reported in Active IQ:
    • "Vserver <vserver> contains one CIFS share or Qtree <share_or_qtree_list> that has oplocks disabled."
