HP Virtual connect module connected to host port going down repeatedly

The HP blade VC module is the connection between host and FC fabric/blade switching module.

Issue

  • Virtual connect module connected  to host port reported pause flooding and it responds by disabling the host connected port and therby losing the path to the storage.

  • Additionally, the host connected ports were acting as "slow drain" devices on the switch end.
  • The Buffer credit time outs were observed on some of the NPIV ports logged in to the switch.
