Secd.dns.srv.lookup.failed error found in SecD logs every four hours or upon CIFS creation

Issue

  • Every four hours, the following errors can be seen in the SecD logs: 

[Node-01: secd: secd.dns.srv.lookup.failed:error]: DNS server failed to look up service (_ldap._tcp.domain) for vserver (SVM1) with error (No server(s) found).
[Node-01: secd: secd.dns.srv.lookup.failed:error]: DNS server failed to look up service (_ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.domain) for vserver (SVM1) with error (No server(s) found).
[Node-01: secd: secd.dns.srv.lookup.failed:error]: DNS server failed to look up service (_kerberos._tcp.domain) for vserver (SVM1) with error (No server(s) found).
[Node-01: secd: secd.ldap.noServers:EMERGENCY]: None of the LDAP servers configured for Vserver (SVM1) are currently accessible via the network.

  • This may also occur when initially creating a CIFS server (either via the System Manager GUI or with the cifs create command in the CLI)
