Unable to list local group membership due to stale enteries in local smdb tables

Issue

  • Users are unable to add or list members to a local group using CLI and getting below error:

::> vserver cifs users-and-groups local-group show-members -vserver <vserver-name> -group-name <BUILTINgroup-name>
    show failed: Failed to resolve member by the security identifier (SID) unknown-SID.

  • User access not possible due to wrong (old) cached SID
  • Unable to add or list members to a group on the migrated vservers
  • Not able to access cifs shares and also not able to find any members in local group
