Issue

  • When attempting to create NTFS ACLs through Windows Security tab, a timeout and an error message stating

Cannot determine whether the computer is part of a domain 

  • When using a Windows client to set NTFS ACLs, the following error is displayed:

The program cannot open the required dialog box because it cannot determine whether the computer named "host's FQDN" is joined to a domain. Close this message. and try again.

  • On the storage system, a timeout to LDAP is seen:

::> event log show -messagename *ldap*

11/9/2016 12:19:14  node01       WARNING       secd.ldap.query.timed.out: Vserver 'SVM01': LDAP server 10.0.0.148 did not respond to query within timeout (2 seconds) interval.

  • The issue is limited to a single geographical location.
