Answer

Data ONTAP 7-Mode export rules using the -actual option (that is, name alias) is not supported on ONTAP 9 and it will be ignored during transition.

Data ONTAP 7-Mode behavior:

The -actual option in Data ONTAP 7-Mode NFS exports specifies the actual file system path corresponding to the exported file system path.

Example:

If  add the following export entry to the /etc/exports file, then Data ONTAP 7-Mode exports /vol/vol2/ to all NFS clients for read-write access, mapping it internally to /vol/vol0.

/vol/vol2/ -actual=/vol/vol0,rw
