Answer

A certificate cannot be replaced if the server is running. If you try to modify the certificate-name you will get an error
 
::*> object-store-server modify -certificate-name s3-src_new
(vserver object-store-server modify)

Error: command failed: Set the status-admin of the server to "down" before modifying following fields:
certificate-name.
