CIFS shares inaccessible SECD error "Path was incompletely processed"

Issue

  • Using Windows Explorer users are able to browse the root of the cifs server \\cifs_server\ and see all the shares.
    • Clicking on a share results in a spinning wheel and eventually a not accessible error.
  • Error seen in EMS
    Nblade.cifsShrConnectFailed: Vserver name: ACADIA, Vserver ID: 5, error description: Path was incompletely processed 
    otherthan because of encountering a symbolic link, junction, data set root, or export point, error code: 257
