Issue

  • Microsoft Domain Controller (DC) hosting Active Directory (AD) and Domain Name System (DNS) services are hosted on virtual machine  (VM) on a single Hyper-V server
  • The Hyper-V server is impacted with an outage causing it to go offline
  • On recovering from the outage, the Hyper-V server is not able to initialize services
  • Users are unable to access CIFS shares with authentication errors
